I attempted to capture the screen in full view, but the frame rate stays around "57" fps which feels choppy. Disabled full-screen enhancements, yet the issue persists. The game runs at 60fps, and all resources aren’t hitting their limits. Now I’m switching the game to “borderless” mode—game bar recording is near 80fps, still a bit stuttery. Isn’t there an option to record at 60fps instead? That’s what I initially chose. My hardware: RTX 3070, R5 3600, 16GB 3200MHz RAM.
my friend's setup is stable with the GTX 960 and gamebar running smoothly at 60fps without any stutters. I've used GFE for years… it seems to be malfunctioning now. From what was mentioned earlier, I think the issue might be with my GPU (could be the encoder/decoder chip failing) or my monitor. Also, I tried recording with CPU via OBS—CPU usage was around 60%, but performance dropped significantly (this suggests it's not the GPU). It's really frustrating since it worked well before, and now it feels like the GT1030 is installed.
It actually began that way… I saw the stuttering recordings, looked into what might have been different, and GFE recommended setting every game to 4K lowest resolution. It was funny since it usually suggested higher settings and my monitors’ native resolution (1440p) but I didn’t adjust it. I also tried DDU and various drivers, but nothing changed. Plus, I’m not sure how to prevent it because checking for games is the first step GFE takes when you open it. So, honestly, I’m really stuck on fixing this.
I discovered a supposed solution but don’t understand why it works… Updated drivers didn’t help much, no improvement. Switched to HDMI instead of DP, which actually made things worse (that’s surprising). Adjusted the monitor refresh rate to 60Hz with VSYNC enabled; Gsync was already off and this improved things noticeably, though not completely. So far, only tested with Shadowplay. The takeaway is either Gsync (drivers) or the monitor itself needs fixing. It seems like even a 165Hz setup with Gsync at 60Hz didn’t function properly before. Probably something is off—it worked fine at that speed previously. I didn’t purchase a 165Hz monitor for this purpose.
Its the monitor (MSI OPTIXMAG274QRF) for some reason??? I set up my old 1080p 60hz Asus monitor and the issues are gone! I can even record/play at 4k with DSR, and everything feels smoother, and videos dont "stutter". Wtf, definitely the last time i buy a "Gsync monitor" what a let down lol. Guess its RMA time…
I think you're experiencing some of the old G-Sync issues. There is definitely a way to get around it. I know you mentioned that you have already used DDU but do it again. Then disable Game Bar in Windows 10. Make sure you run a new version of Windows 10. In NVIDIA Control Panel set your resolution and refresh rate to what you're supposed to have with the monitor but set G-Sync to be usable only in FullScreen mode. In the "Manage 3D settings" tab set the Low Latency Mode to Ultra, set Max Frame rate to 6FPS less than what's your monitor refresh rate (138FPS if you have 144Hz monitor), Vertical Sync to "Use 3D application setting" but in the game actually ENABLE V-Sync and make sure to run the game with a true FullScreen mode (no Borderless or Windowed). Then try Shadowplay or OBS again and see if that works. I recommend to run OBS as an admin, also make sure that Game Mode is enabled in Windows 10.
