Game screen goes dark and system shuts down after 10 minutes of play
Hello, I just moved from a 1070 to a 3070 using my i5 12400f with the original cooler. Despite that, I can't play more than 15 minutes without the whole system freezing. The screen turns black but the sound stays on. I heard the game crash and some system noises afterward. Eventually, I have to reset it manually. Any thoughts on what might be wrong? I ran a stress test at the same time, and temperatures were similar—GPU around 70-75, CPU 75-85 under load. Thanks in advance.
Run CPU tests using Prime95 with Small FFTs for one hour. Perform RAM checks with Memtest86 for three hours. Assess GPU performance with GPUPI 3.3.3 by pressing Calculate and applying the specified settings. If issues arise during testing, report them. Verify your PSU... The 30 series cards are recognized for surging PSU demands. Sometimes they exceed standard specs. 3070 needs a 650 min. However, with the spikes involved, the 30 series cards perform best around 800+ watts.
I only have a 600W model. The calculator says 400W, which is a bit low. Could end up needing to invest more.
Recommended power rating is 650 watts. However, perform a Prime95 test afterward, followed by a furmark test. If it still doesn’t fail at once, verify temperatures consistently. Our aim is to trigger a restart and narrow down the issue.
