The VSync issue might clash with graphics programs. You faced similar challenges with Crimson initially. Maggotware, cookies, malware, or viruses could be involved. Couldn’t resolve it on your end?
Do you understand what a maggot looks like? It's the kind you'd rather not find on your skin, especially near a rotting body. And definitely not in your computer. MAGGOTWARE! Perform scans. What you're describing suggests something is running while you try to play. You might also want to turn off automatic updates.
