I've checked the league support tickets (around six attempts), but after the final one they gave up. (No hard feelings, just thought I'd give it another shot.) I've been playing league for a while now, never run into problems before. I stopped participating in early season about seven weeks ago and resumed a few months later. Since then, I've experienced the issue. (During the hiatus, I updated my Win 7 to 10, though I'm not sure if that helped.) So far, no problems with the game itself, but every other game freezes randomly—usually from 180 frames down to zero. If I switch to full screen, I can't even press the tab key. Rebooting my PC is necessary. With Windows in windowed mode, I can still close League and reconnect. The freeze happens suddenly, dropping from 180 fps to nothing. I don’t feel it coming on, but the audio keeps playing. My system specs: Intel Core i7-6700 at 3.40GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10 64-bit.

What I've tried to fix it: CCleaner uninstalling League (with Revo Uninstaller), reinstalling League via administrator, removing video card drivers, rebooting without antivirus, doing a clean boot. I’ve also run a Passmark test with no errors and restarted my hard drive completely. I disabled overlays and ensured the Visual C++ Redistributable packages were up to date.

I don’t have any issues with other games either. There are some people online sharing the same problem, but their posts are mostly from about six months ago or older. Thanks for taking the time to read this long thread. If you know of any solutions, please let me know.

P.S.: This happens in both normal league and TFT mode (I’m not sure about ARAM since I don’t play it). Thanks everyone!

It seems there might be an issue with RAM or a bad sector on the HDD. Booting into Memtest86 and running diagnostics can help identify problems. You can also use HDTune to check for bad sectors. If none of these steps resolve it, consider reinstalling Windows via Windows Refresh to ensure the game isn't corrupted. This process may require reinstalling the game. Check the Event Viewer in Windows for any unusual activity around the time the computer froze. It's possible something is failing, but further investigation is needed. Good luck resolving the issue.

I ran MemTest86 for about five hours without any errors, but I’m considering using HDD Tuner now. Thanks for your help—I don’t think this occurs with other games, though I noticed it happened once while playing Overwatch. It seems to happen frequently in the league as well.

No red indicators in the HDTune scan, probably just need a fresh Windows install.

I tried updating the windows but it didn’t help much. I’m adding my game logs, anyone have any idea what’s going on? This is where it stops working.

The log indicates possible data corruption. Models or audio files aren't loading properly, which may mean repeated errors or outdated versions. It could be the same models or recent issues. Consider running multiple logs to identify consistent problems. Record each step and share the files with Riot Games for assistance. There seems to be a decryption failure with hash 0a927591.

I’ll keep logging more, but starting a game feels frustrating when it’s likely to crash. I’ve already shared all my logs with support, and they pointed out the same issues. No overlays are active. I’m planning to investigate further using the logs myself. Thanks again!

I think the Windows game bar is probably off, and you might be running Discord in the background. This can sometimes cause issues with LOL. You’d just need to turn off League mode on Discord. I’ve seen some weird things happen with Windows, PCs, and LOL. My friend’s laptop keyboard would stop working only when playing League, so he had to update his drivers and firmware/bios. If you’re not having problems with other games, it’s likely a software compatibility issue.
