Game freeze in League of Legends halts everything, requiring a full system restart.
I came across the same problem while searching online. I performed some memory tests and didn’t see any errors, so I thought it might be related to RAM. I even rearranged my 8GB stick in hopes it would help. After cleaning up my Windows installation and re-downloading League of Legends, the issue still exists. For me, the game freezes for a short time before returning to normal, but I still experience multiple freezes each match. If anyone has found a solution, please share it.
I'm experiencing the same problem where League freezes completely, requiring a reboot. I can't access Task Manager or any settings. Having two monitors helps me run Task Manager on one screen to resolve the frozen client. I ended the game by closing the League client and reopening the Practice Tool, which stops freezing unless I log out and exit. No other solutions have worked yet. It seems my system uses a 6700K processor, so it might be related. I've checked memory tests and tried installing League on different drives without success.
@Zindawg and for anyone else facing this problem. Begin the league only in Administrator mode (run as admin), and it should resolve all freezing. Why? I’m not sure. I also had the same issue with the league, tried to keep playing without it and it corrupted my drive. I wiped the drive, reformatted it, but the PC still froze when running league. After switching to admin mode, no more problems. Maybe Riot is a small indie company and their software shows that. (I own an i5 5600x with 32GB DDR4 at 3000MHz set to 2899MHz and a 3060ti; I shouldn’t freeze at all, yet only the league caused issues. Reference.)
