I don’t recall doing any work recently. I glanced at the planet through a casual view and observed everything around me. It wasn’t the most effective method, but it worked fine for testing.

I truly believe it will work well with a solid OC on a 2-core Haswell chip. Even though it has just two cores, the single-thread capability exists and the clock speeds are present, so it should handle games nicely. Would you expect better results on a CPU with 4-8 or 12 cores when the graphics card is added? That’s probably yes, but I don’t think there’ll be huge jumps in FPS—more likely, the game will run smoother during intense scenes and the overall performance will match expectations more closely. These newer chips are impressive for gaming in DX11, but you’re unlikely to notice a big difference (1-5 frames per second) since most games only use two cores at a time.

I noticed they're having trouble in the hangers, which is why I was surprised to see progress (a patch helped CPU speed). The main focus should be on vanduul swarm; I won't purchase one for my dad until I see okish frames. Unlike most here, I believe multiple cores will matter soon.

only if they move away from DX11. right now your not understanding that DX11 really doesn't use more then 2 cores. its a limitation on DX11 directly. if mantel was enabled right now id agree with you but at present time anything that's working under DX9-DX11 is currently limited to 2 core utilization anyhow. so if you are seeing lag or performance problems its likely not directly related to the fact your running the new g3258 vs a 4770k its something else entirely or just poor optimization at this point. the dx9-11 limitations are entirely the soul point of mantel existing in the first place.

I don't understand if DX12 is something they're considering—it seems it might require more than two cores. I can confirm that. It's not my intention to accuse anyone, just that the benchmarks being referenced differ from the ones I've seen for RL. If Vandaal Swarm exceeded 30 fps, I'd be glad to hear about it.
