G3258 at 4.2ghz in Star Citizen.
I dove into Star Citizen during its free trial week and was pleasantly shocked by how smoothly it ran despite being in pre-alpha. It was running on a 750ti, with a minimum of 28 frames per second, an average of 33, and a maximum of 37. I was surprised it even worked at all. It’s definitely not polished, but since it’s still pre-alpha, it’s meant for those who want to try it out. Someone even asked me to test it on a Pentium G3258 at 4.2ghz—so it’s open to everyone interested.
I might have forgotten about the free week. Oh, and my graphics card is acting up again.
I was set to a specific configuration and operated at a defined resolution.
You're testing your G3258 at 4.5GHz—great for checking performance limits! The FPS you achieve depends on your GPU's capabilities and the game's settings. It might not be much higher than standard, but it could still give you a solid frame count if the hardware handles it well.
I'm planning to buy a 290x on payday in about 12 days! Don't have one set yet, lol. Sorry about that.
