The truth or we to deceive you? Bottleneck calculators are just as pointless as seeking guidance in potato salad. They produce meaningless figures that don’t lead anywhere.
Your GPU isn't reaching its full potential. You'd achieve the same results with a 2070 as you would with a 2080—that's what a bottleneck looks like. The money you spent on the high-end card is being wasted because your GPU can't keep up with the CPU's demand for draw calls. In your situation, a Ryzen 5 3600 or i7 8700 paired with a 2070 would work better in games. Simple as it sounds.
The game isn't flawless, yet your setup isn't well-balanced. This results in a mid-range CPU struggling against a high-end card, leading to wasted money.
Truth - I own a Truth i5 and a 2080super, perfect for a birthday and university gift. Lie - I can afford to buy a new CPU and motherboard to reduce bottlenecks, so even if I wanted to upgrade my hardware, it would only make sense in the three games mentioned in my original post.
I also regret responding in such an unkind tone before. I dislike when others label it a bottleneck and keep emphasizing it, as people often assume someone can purchase such items without understanding the reasoning behind the original decision. Please accept my apology and have a pleasant evening or afternoon.
Start by letting go of your pride about the PC. Step 2.) I discovered this the difficult way, here - be open, there’s a wealth of knowledge waiting and the forum members’ eagerness to share anything is unmatched. Step 3.) Don’t upgrade your components, okay? But now grasp why things stay this way and accept that even if you didn’t like the answers, they’re solid facts. And finally: My i5 3470, used as a media center, is about 30% slower on a single core compared to your CPU, and mine was made in 2012. The issue with Intel’s naming system feels like a big jump, especially when looking at i5s—back then AMD was struggling too.
I don't feel the need to boast about my PC. It's not the most expensive you could buy, but when compared to my old FX-8350 and the SLI'd 960 models I own, this upgrade feels significantly better from my side.
I've been to this forum before and truly respect those who contribute here. They don't always need to share, but choosing to do so is thoughtful.
I didn't necessarily dislike his response; I know there are limitations, but please understand this setup was a limited-time offer and a special gift from my family. It made me feel honored to be able to share this with them.
Regarding your last comment, I'm not as tech-savvy as some people claim. Personally, I can enjoy gaming at 4K with 60FPS on this machine, especially since I've recently overclocked my CPU using Asus's EZ OC BIOS. That allowed me to stay under 100% usage during games, which is a big plus for me.
