You can adjust the settings for overclocking your GTX 1060 3GT-OC with MSI Afterburner. Focus on CPU and GPU performance parameters, monitor temperatures, and ensure stability before increasing clock speeds.

Are we discussing the BIOS configuration that merely slightly reduces the CPU speed when idle and increases it during high demand? Yes, it essentially does nothing while idle and boosts performance when needed.

each GPU varies in performance, influenced by the PCB quality and silicon condition. raise the power limit to its maximum and observe the results, and if you can adjust your voltage slightly, test further.

It doesn't matter which GPU you're using, MSI AfterBurner typically allows adjusting Core clock (MHz)/voltage (mV), Memory clock (MHz)/voltage (mV), and Power Limit (card draws more power).

How many megahertz each time you check until it becomes unstable at the core clock and memory clock plus 100 at memory, with an additional 40 each time you test?

It looks like a reasonable observation.

I've watched a video showing him doing over 40 on Core clock each test to check for instability, and more than 100 on memory clock each test to see if it becomes unstable. Maybe I'll try it when I get home.
