I face frequent low FPS and overall poor performance even when adjusting settings. My system has a 3080ti and an i7 8700k, which is under heavy stress with around 4-5 cores running at full capacity. I don’t know why that’s happening, but my friend with a much worse machine gets three to four times more frames. Thanks.

Tell me about your friend's computer setup and whether it matches your display settings.

The "far worse PC" features outdated hardware and insufficient performance for modern tasks.

Often needs clarification here—does your monitor connect to the GPU or the motherboard?

You have a 3K model in full HD, a 1050Ti processor, and an i5-8600K or better.

Have you explored DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 at low settings? That might not be the issue. Regarding storage, what kind of drive do you use for Fortnite—HDD or SSD? Also, is your RAM sufficient? Does your friend have quicker RAM? Should I check if your graphics drivers are current? Probably not necessary right now.

Latest players, my M.2 slot’s RAM status is unclear. I only used Direct X 11 and didn’t see any improvement in FPS beyond 50 or 60, even with the monitor set to 165Hz.

Checking GPU and CPU usage along with performance times while playing games. Fortnite seems to be the only game showing issues on a high-end GPU, but it might affect other titles as well.
