I increased the game's speed and saw a noticeable boost in performance. There’s an option to enable multi-thread CPU processing in the settings. Each graphics setting now includes clear explanations about its effect on performance and CPU/GPU usage. The only time I experienced dropped frames was during race starts, which likely relates to streaming.

Update brief; V-Sync appears to be the reason for frame drops. The same area where I saw this—like 55fps with V-Sync—shows higher frame rates (75+) when it's disabled.

I need to test the game again. It usually performed well, but there were spots where performance dropped sharply, such as the main strip in Surfers Paradise and a bit in the rainforest area. During special events, a train would sometimes run at single digits, especially when I moved the camera toward it. I have a 5820k OC'd system, and as others observed, one core was being heavily stressed while others handled much less load.

I've spent a lot of time on the PC version lately and I'm having to reconsider much of my praise for the latest update. Now, I need to admit the improvements are nice, especially the CPU performance gains. But instead of one core running at full speed, all four are active. The performance doesn't improve much when you move from low settings to ultra—my frame rates stay the same no matter what. Based on what I've experienced so far, it seems there might be an issue with how the game loads new assets. The only times I notice frame drops are at the start of races or when entering new areas. I really hope they keep working on this, because looking at other Xbox games like Gears 4 shows it's doable to get very smooth PC performance.

Have you experimented with adjusting the maximum pre-rendered frames? If your frame rate varies, try setting it to 3. I’m not sure the impact will be significant, but it might assist slightly.

I've checked all the available options and haven't noticed any changes. The biggest gain comes from disabling V-Sync, though the screen tearing remains a problem. Have you had success with this game before? Since our systems are quite alike, I'm curious about your experience.

It's working smoothly for me too. I've lowered shadows to maximum in Ultra. I don't rely on VSync since I use G-Sync. But overall, performance is great. Are you using the newest GPU drivers? It might not make much difference. I've also turned off game mode on my system—maybe that could help.

Great choice, I turned off game mode after watching Linus' video. It seems a fresh driver could help with some issues I'm facing. I also noticed a performance drop when I first played Gears 4 before switching to the updated version. Maybe Nvidia can provide a solution.

Consider updating to the latest version and opt for a fresh installation. Also, verify if Forza Horizon 3 is configured for peak performance within the Nvidia control panel.

Looking for Forza in the control panel? You haven't found it yet—try checking the main menu or settings section again.
