My laptop runs an i5 1135g7 with 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz and a 512GB SSD. It uses Intel Iris Xe graphics and has 8GB of shared memory. I install MSI afterburner to monitor system usage. The CPU operates between 60-85% load, while the GPU stays around 40-50%. RAM usage never exceeds 15GB out of 16GB, yet Fortnite struggles to maintain 60 FPS, dropping as low as 28 FPS. Possible reasons include thermal throttling despite a stable temperature below 80°C, and the cooling pad helping keep it under 75°C. Note: The CPU frequency varies from 4.00 GHz to 2.8 GHz, but no overheating occurs even during heavy tasks.
I haven't tested many, but hello neighbor uses the GPU fully. I reached out to Epic Games and they advised updating my driver from December to January, but the problem persists.
To remove Intel drivers, try using the appropriate uninstaller tools or the built-in Windows settings. If you need further guidance, let me know.
Currently, my location is within a Windows environment that appears to have given up, while Intel driver support still indicates I'm up to date. I'm trying to restart my laptop in the hope it will resolve the issue.
Restarting the system improved things. I reinstalled the newest driver, and the Intel update is reconnecting. Then I'll check Fortnite later and keep you updated.
It might be your decision I mistakenly picked a large resolution on Wow, and it behaved similarly. Everything lagged until I restored it to 1920x1080.
