The change in your wallpaper isn't related to the issue—TeamViewer does remove wallpapers.
It really depends... someone could easily take control of your computer with just that. They only need your address, then they can watch your screen and swap it out. Just turn it off when you don’t need it, and then check if teamviewer works again.
