My adjustments in the previous step didn't seem to be the cause of the problems. It contributes roughly 10 ms, though it could vary between 7 ms at best. Edit: Just verified, no values below 9 detected—likely lag comes from other places... maybe your tablet? (I assume you use one) Edited September 15, 2017 by Ryan_Vickers

You're experiencing input lag on your tablet, but it seems the delay is minimal—around 42ms—making it feel responsive enough for games like Stepmania, DDR, or Osu! Mania. Since the issue isn’t related to the tablet itself, consider trying a different device or checking if the game supports touch controls without lag.

It seems the issue isn't likely coming from the keyboard or its connection. Everyone usually doesn't mention input lag from keyboards, so they probably aren't the problem. My thoughts are running out of ideas. Lag could come from several sources: your devices sending signals to the PC, the PC handling the next game frame, and finally showing it on the screen. Since your frame rate is solid, it's unlikely the main culprit is in between those steps—we've already eliminated the other possibilities.

It's similar to Guitar Hero but with a different idea. The video is short and the first track is tough—hard to keep up, haha. Freesync works like no ghosting, and G Sync increases latency. By the way, I don’t play online much; I’m more of a casual gamer who plays offline.

It seems the issue might stem from three possible sources: 1) The computer handling the task. 2) The display shows delayed responses. 3) My earbuds have a significant delay (around 200ms).

They connect via a dedicated USB sound card. Have you used them with other headphones or speakers, especially those with a 3.5mm jack? It’s conceivable there might be some delay.

It features the 3.5mm headphone and audio jacks separately, not combined. It includes a controller and doesn’t seem to introduce latency. I haven’t tested it with other headphones yet, but I’m planning to grab one from my brother’s room right now.

I would only imagine delays if you use the USB soundcard included—it attempts surround sound, which can sometimes sound poor in terms of audio quality. Adding latency wouldn’t be unexpected either. Using it straight from the PC’s built-in speakers shouldn’t cause any delay. I’m aware that recording through the microphone port works fine, but the output doesn’t seem to lag.

This headset offers surround sound, which I discovered after my brief trip around the house. It seems the only other headphones available are from Monster DNA. I plan to test them out soon.

It might be due to a Windows setting increasing processing load. It seems unlikely to cause significant delays, but it could be a factor.
