Minecraft and junkware generally function on RHEL, though you should verify specific compatibility with your version. It was a good starting point for me since I’m still learning and didn’t want to risk running into issues.
Most of it yes, though the server might be a bit heavy on resources. It could use more of your server's power, especially if it's running on just two cores.
There’s no clear solution to the storage capacity concern. The 2TB limit might not relate to the processor but could be another restriction. Licensing with Red Hat and Ubuntu Server may have fees after a trial period, so check the details. CentOS could work for this setup, but verify compatibility first.
Choose any HDD you have available. Refer to the link provided for details. Red Hat isn't certain, but Ubuntu Server and CentOS are free options. Ubuntu includes some management tools that cost money, whereas CentOS is similar to Red Hat but lacks support like phone or email assistance.
@ Blake The manual I was using seems to cap the settings at 146x8 per controller. I figured it might just reflect current trends (possibly the highest available), but I plan to upgrade with additional spare parts to test it further. @ ohJey I installed Ubuntu Server yesterday and it feels very familiar with my Linux setup, so I’ll likely keep going with that. Thanks a lot for all the advice. I’m pretty sure it won’t cause any issues now. Really happy with my first thread.
The size is determined by the file system limitations. FAT32 caps storage at 2 TB, so 32 GB fits comfortably. Each file is limited to 4 GB, making it practical for managing large files.
