I'm trying to remove a Windows file located at the bottom right of my screenshot, but I'm having trouble doing so. I understand how this file ended up there—when I first got my computer, I disabled Cortana by adding a random extension to the folder name (like .bak). That action eliminated the search bar, which was essential for using my PC normally. Over time, I thought about undoing that change by deleting the extension, but Windows blocked me. So I moved it to the desktop so it could fix itself and restore Cortana. Recently, everything was reinstalled, and the file remained on the desktop without any user files left behind.

Consider setting up a test folder just in case you're cautious.

You can easily drag the folder into the command prompt, eliminating the need to enter the path manually
