Identical outcome. This time it didn’t cause a blue screen. The C drive would restart repeatedly while using AIDA64.
Are you experiencing issues when just one drive is connected, especially after removing the 1TB storage? Does a 500GB drive remain unreliable in such scenarios?
What power supply do you have? It’s not about the subject, but they usually fail over time, and after six to seven years it might become a problem. Otherwise, I’d say your motherboard seems to be having an issue. If you come across a budget Z390 board on eBay, it should work with your CPU. If you’re comfortable with warranty parts, an i5 and B660 mainboards should handle your DDR4 chips too, so upgrading shouldn’t be too much of a hassle.
that PSU should still work.. it's most likely it's the mainboard dying, altho no guarantees, it could be your CPU too.. but more likely it's your mainboard dying. i havn't had an AMD cpu since the old 486 days.. so around 1996.. others here are more qualified to tell you what you should get. but i can say if you go AM4 you can get boards that supports DDR4. i used to have an 8700k that i delidded.. i had one z370 board die on me... later i got a 9900k cheap. and still running my z390 board today, on the fence due to pricing if i should upgrade board/cpu/ram/gpu..
