Installed second M.2 on my Asrock B450M PRO4 but it doesn’t appear in BIOS or Disk Management. The main drive remains ADATA 500GB while the new HDD is Crucial P3 Plus 1TB. Got any clues?
You should adjust the BIOS settings to match your storage configuration. Since you're using an ADATA drive and a Seagate 1TB HDD, ensure the system recognizes both devices properly. If you have two M.2 slots but only one can be used, check the BIOS for compatibility options or disable one slot if needed.
You need a different SATA port than 3. In BIOS you can't adjust it; you must move the 3 port drive to another physical connection. This could explain why the drive isn't detected, though other reasons might exist as well.
No, nothing in bios. We're asking if on your motherboard you have the HDD sata cable plugged into sata port number 3? That sata port when in use disables the other M.2 slot on the motherboard, so you would need to move your cable from sata port 3 to another one. Then see if the M.2 drive shows up.
Nothing appears to have changed. The HDD was linked to SATA 3 or 4, but the lower one. I tried SATA 1 or 2 instead. No updates in BIOS or Disk Manager. It seems my Boot Option 1 uses Windows Boot Manager—could it be the installation drive? Might there be an issue? The second option is ADATA 500GB (my C drive).
Adjusting SATA ports didn’t resolve the issue. This video was found. My drive model differs, but I suspect the same problem exists on the Asrock product page for (Asrock, B450M PRO4). I discovered a setup with 4 SATA3, 1 Ultra M.2 (PCIe Gen3 x4), and 1 M.2 (SATA3). This makes me wonder if the second M.2 slot doesn’t support NVMe M.2 drives. Is that accurate? Did I just spend $65 on something unnecessary, or is there another problem? It seems Asrock boards may not be compatible with M.2 storage.
