ok im just tired of this. so here is something for you guys to know whenever you see a new game being announced. 1. ITS NEVER ACTUAL GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE (exept some times like battlefront 3) 2. there is even a term for it, its called fake game footage, or fgf 3. this is something done before preproduction. to show off to the companies for funding and to bring to the events. idk why you guys keep thinking that its in game and in engine. it never was. its ment to look like how its going to be played to show how the game works. not how the game actually looks like. hell, ubisoft even has an interactive website talking about it and how it works sorry for the rant im just tired of 90% of the people not knowing this
the release of trailers can't happen until production begins on a game, and it usually takes more than six months to develop one. this isn't true for every game—like kerbal space program, the trailers match the actual gameplay since they're part of it.
Do you know what percentage of the time is dedicated to actually building the game? Not before production, not anything else. The real creation phase takes up roughly 30% of the schedule, with the remaining efforts focused on fixing bugs and preparing for pre-production.
