Hello everyone,

It’s finally time to assemble a new Desktop-PC. My previous build was from 2015, and I’ve been working on it with your help. Since then I haven’t kept up with the latest trends, and I’ve lost touch completely. In recent weeks I’ve tried to catch up, but honestly I’m feeling quite overwhelmed.

I’m planning to construct a PC that will meet my requirements for at least five years. The main focus is on light gaming and office tasks—no heavy demands. My top game is CS2, but I’d also like to enjoy titles such as RDR2, Hogwarts Legacy, and Horizon Zero Dawn (all in my library, though not playable at the moment even with low settings). Currently I’m using 1080p, but I’m thinking about upgrading to a 2.7K/1440p display soon. I don’t want or need flashy RGB lighting; I prefer a clean, minimal design.

My budget is around 1000€ (thinking of Black Friday and Cyber Monday), but I’m open to spending about 1200€. No monitor, operating system, or peripherals are needed. So far, the setup comes to roughly 1200€, though I expect it to drop after some sales and careful choices.

Here’s what I’ve decided:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600
- Motherboard: ASRock 650M-HDV/M.2
- GPU: PowerColor Hellhound OC Radeon RX 7800 XT
- Case: NZXT H5 Flow
- PSU: Gigabyte UD750GM
- Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 1 TB
- RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB
- Cooler: Deepcool AG400
- Link for parts: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/DtGVnp

I’d appreciate any feedback on this build from you all—especially suggestions on unnecessary costs or areas to invest more in. Please feel free to share any tips, compatibility notes, or other insights.

Thanks in advance and best regards!

I would likely choose something similar to this.
PCPartPicker Part List
CPU:
AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor
(€186.67 @ Galaxus)
Motherboard:
ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2 Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard
(€115.43 @ Galaxus)
Memory:
G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
(€114.89 @ Caseking)
Storage:
Western Digital Blue SN580 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
(€112.90 @ Alza)
Video Card:
Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7800 XT 16 GB Video Card
(€475.90 @ Alza)
Case:
NZXT H5 Flow (2022) ATX Mid Tower Case
(€87.25 @ Proshop)
Power Supply:
SeaSonic FOCUS GX-750 ATX 3.0 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
(€106.89 @ Galaxus)
Overall Cost:
€1199.93
Includes shipping, taxes, and any available discounts

This model offers a decent cooler, which could help save money now. It’s not as powerful as the Deepcool AG400, but it’s sufficient for waiting a few months to upgrade later. The WD SN580 provides more storage, which will have a noticeable impact. The Gigabyte UD750GM is acceptable, yet the SeaSonic Focus GX 3.0 stands out more for power supply needs. If I had to pick one piece I’d never cut corners on, it would be the PSU.

This suggestion is good considering the 7500f is about 35€ cheaper than the 7600 right now. If the price stays that way, I’ll choose the one.
I prefer the case but will opt for the Montech Air 903 MAX because it includes an extra 140mm fan at the front and has a similar price.
Could you explain why they changed the CPU cooler?

ID-Cooling leads the market with the FROZN A620 PRO SE. By skipping ARGB lighting and extra visual details, they've crafted a device that delivers strong performance at an affordable price, making it a more attractive option compared to Thermalright for under $30.

I understand your concern about the GPU variant change. The main factor was the price, not just the size. From my experience, a 1TB should suffice, so I’m comfortable with that decision.

I upgraded the GPU because of cost, and the Sapphire Pulse tends to be a good option that's slightly more affordable.

Consider the limitations of the 7500f without integrated graphics; if your GPU fails, your PC will feel heavy until you replace it. I’d opt for a more reliable option instead.
For a recommended build:
PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor (€186.67 @ Galaxus)
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB 66.17 CFM (€34.90 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX ATX AM5 (€133.99 @ notebooksbilliger.de)
Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 (€114.90 @ Alza)
Storage: Silicon Power UD90 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD (€61.99 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Video Card: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7800 XT 16 GB (€475.90 @ Alza)
Case: Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower (€70.00 @ Alza)
Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 Snow 850 W (80+ Gold Certified, Fully Modular ATX) (€99.90 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Overall cost: €1178.25

Thank you for your reply. I have an old R9 290 that still functions, should I need it for troubleshooting? Right?
You mentioned the Sapphire Pulse as well; I've heard it's quieter and cooler than the PULSE. Is it worth the extra 20€?
About switching to a motherboard, what are your thoughts on choosing the Gigabyte B650 EAGLE over the Asrock B650M?
