Hello. I recently assembled my new PC at the start of the year and noticed some issues, mainly when it’s powered off. Even after shutting it down, the fans continue to spin, albeit slowly. When I disconnect the power supply, they still keep running once I restart it. Most of the time I’m away from home, so I turn it off and shut down the power supply to stop the fans, but I worry this might not be ideal or could indicate another problem. Also, the initial boot process feels unusually long—about thirty seconds before any display appears, during which nothing happens, then after that the PC lights up and shows some visuals. I used a slower machine before; typically, loading screens appear quickly when I press the power button, whereas here it takes nearly half a minute just to boot. After that, Windows loads almost instantly, which is good with my PCIe Gen 4 M.2 SSD. Thank you for your assistance.

I assume your audience is connected through a hub, even though I haven’t heard of this before. Since most hubs use a SATA connection, they’re always getting power. If your fans are plugged straight into the motherboard, there might be a wiring issue causing the problem.

They connect to a hub, which in turn is linked to the motherboard.

It seems the SATA power cable isn't connected to the hub directly from the power source. That might be the problem.

I got it wrong earlier. There is indeed a power cable connecting the PSU to the hub.

It seems like the hub might be faulty. As long as it's powered and connected to a PWM fan header on the MOBO, the fans should shut down when the PC is off. There could be a short at that specific header—try swapping it with another. Regarding the delay in posting before booting, you'll need to monitor the post lights or check the code readout on the board; it's clearly encountering an issue.

In reality, they connect to two separate hubs. Each fan has its own power cable and its own D-RGB cable, which means I use one hub for both.

There’s no method to supply power to the fan via the RGB cable, which means that won’t work.

You think the hub is where the fan power cables connect, but I missed the cable name—I'm sorry. Or maybe you're referring to the header.
