A heavily modded Fallout 3 would offer a vastly different experience compared to the latest releases. Many players find the original game engaging, though DLCs have expanded its scope. Your thoughts on the mods are welcome, and regarding your questing style, you can skip them without losing progress—just like in Skyrim. Your character won’t be affected by missing main quests.

It's a messy experience, but Fallout 3 still works well. I've only fixed the crashes so far.

It would be a delightful experience. It depends on the mods, but with an audio upgrade, water and plants plus weather effects would make it a great game to play.

heavily modded it looks pretty awesome, tough naturally it doesn't stack up to the newest games realeased today. the DLC's are amazing tough, my favorites are Mothership Zeta and The Pitt. (The Pitt is amazing!) definitely worth playing through it again! and yeah, you can just ignore the quests if you dont want to do it. no drawbacks really

The DLCs differ in quality, offering varied experiences—some focus on storytelling while others excel at collecting items. You can skip any mission whenever you wish, and there will be no negative consequences.

Hey everyone. Has anyone experienced problems on Windows 8.1? There seem to be some fixes required, and I don’t want any issues before diving into modding.

It has been a while since I played Fallout 3. Whenever I attempt it, the game tends to crash right from the start, and I’m not sure what’s behind it. I’ve played it many times on console, but it hasn’t really sparked my interest anymore. If I wanted to fix it, I’d definitely go for a mod.

Fallout 3 is the game I love most. You assume you've discovered everything, but then you uncover something new.

I've been using it for a long time on my laptop with Windows 8.1 and tons of mods—no issues at all!

I'll quickly capture a screenshot of the base game without any modifications.
