Oldschool Runescape offers a lot of enjoyment, yet it's the one that shaped the grind experience. Be mindful when entering, since escaping can be tough.
Back then it felt like a great era with Tibia, Ragnarok, MU, Runescape, etc.—they looked solid, were enjoyable, had strong communities, and were solid choices. Nowadays, they seem like time-sinks, especially since better games are out there and my schedule is tighter.
I've recently started playing Vanillia Wow and I'm really enjoying it. However, since I'm not someone who plays for long sessions or sees everything, a lot remains new and exciting.
I've been searching for a fresh, solid MMO for more than a year now. Over the past decade I've tried all the big ones. Revelation Online seemed promising but feels like just another Korean title. Right now I'm stuck with single-player games. Any recommendations for upcoming titles that look interesting would be great!
I've been enjoying ESO since its beta, and it seems the game has largely fixed its issues. It's an excellent MMO, and I'm confident it now outshines WOW in terms of player count. The game is massive, varied, packed with stories, and quite accessible. Also, the Morrowind expansion will debut on June 6th, introducing a fresh raid, new zones, and PVP arenas. The project appears to be long-term and reasonably priced right now. I'd definitely give it a shot if you were me.
I haven't spent hours on MMOs like GW, but I'm running out of time. I attempted ESO and BDO on PC, FFarr on PS4, but couldn't access them. I spent most of my time in ESO, though BDO was the one that really caught my interest back then when I had more time. It feels like the newest of the three, but its business model isn't great.
I tried WOW for five years, playing it every day for 2 to 12 hours. It took away from my social life, but I liked it. I had a solid clan and used Teamspeak. We raided together and the channel would get super busy. Those were the good old days—no crying kids, just adults.
Ashes Of Creation is the top-looking MMO I've seen recently, still in early development. Check out YouTube with the title "NODES" for a breakdown of its mechanics—it's pretty well-designed. I stumbled upon it just a few days ago and am excited to try it out. It's not free-to-play or pay-to-win; it charges a monthly fee, which is perfect for me. The game has a western theme, which I think will make it even more appealing. I believe it will gain popularity as more people discover it. Few people know about it yet, and I found it by chance.
