Many high-end CPUs are built without integrated GPUs, which explains why server operations often rely on command-line interfaces instead of graphical tools. This isn't a subtle critique—command lines remain the go-to despite their clear drawbacks compared to GUIs.

they might activate ECC functionality and integrate it as an E3 *huff*—think Xeon E 2100 lineup

The cost is based on comparison, not fixed. Similar-sized Ryzen chips can be bought for a quarter of this amount, boosting Intel’s profit. This could ease their current availability issues. Prices adjust only when production costs drop, which seems unlikely here. Manufacturing an i9-9900K might stay under 100€ per unit across all models, so there’s little incentive to lower prices despite strong demand.

Appreciate your iGPU helping when the main graphics card stops working. It seems many people prefer a strong CPU with an iGPU connection for displaying images on the screen.

It also aids in fixing graphics card problems. It’s unnecessary to purchase an inexpensive GPU just to fix issues when your system already uses the integrated GPU. Plus, you can leverage it as a co-processor and beyond that.

Some users on the top end of consumer gaming still notice performance gains from using the iGPU, especially with powerful hardware like a Titan RTX.

I've noticed many discussions and queries about these topics recently. I think it's likely due to enhancements in creative workload efficiency with Ryzen 3000-series and the strong performance from now on, thanks to improved clock speeds in Threadripper 3000-series. Additionally, people are curious about how things work without heavily accelerated hardware coding. I'll attempt to clarify a point that’s already well explained. Based on my experience, yes – especially with Adobe and demanding render tasks. Although the latest versions optimize multithreading and GPU acceleration better than before, GPU usage still tends to stay around 20-30%. A powerful GPU might not provide as much benefit as it once did, since it isn't fully utilized. If quicksync support is available, it can still add a solid boost. It won’t match a top-tier GPU like the 9900K in Adobe rendering, but it will still offer meaningful improvements under the right conditions. For H264 processing, results will vary. With other applications and configurations, outcomes depend on many factors. Regarding Intel and desktop models without integrated graphics, pricing strategies are mainly driven by manufacturing economics and profit margins. Sales prices aren’t directly tied to silicon size alone; they reflect R&D costs, operational expenses, and overall profitability. While physical dimensions matter technically, at the consumer level, price is what buyers accept – often near their budget limit. Pricing can shift over time as production costs drop, especially with smaller process nodes.
