Intel still has a iGPU on things like the 9900k, and 9700k, but the majority of people prob run them with a GPU. Why don't they have 2 SKUs, 1 with no GPU die (not just fused off), which will reduce price, and perhaps one with a iGPU. Currently, the UHD 630 is around 25% of the Core. If they remove that, that'll be either 33% more 9900ks, or a reduction in price. 400-450$ for a 9900k is a lot more reasonable than 550. For lower end chips, such as 6c12t, its around 30% Thats space for another 4 cores! and with low end i3s, that can be a doubling in availability, due to the fact that they can fit even more quad core igpu-less dies per wafer The GPU is larger than the CPUs! With 2c/4t chips, such as pentiums, the GPU is actually much bigger than the CPU. Is the reason why intel hasn't released gpu-less skas (no silicon for the GPU) because that perhaps GPUs are less complex? What are your thoughts? My calculations mean that current quad core skas (8100,8300,8350k), can be 30-40% cheaper, 6c 25-35%, and 8 cores 20-30%. A 120$ 6c would be amazing, on intel's part. (Half of these pics (the 2 & 4 core ones) are actually Kaby lake, but there is 0 difference.)

There are CPUs that don’t include an integrated graphics unit. Even if a particular model like the 9900K was designed without one, the overall cost wouldn’t be significantly affected.

They’re not reliable because of faulty iGPUs. Smaller dies and simpler designs might lower costs, but the current issues outweigh those savings.

Similar to quicksync video, this functionality won’t function if the integrated graphics are removed. They’ve also promoted 4K support on their CPUs, and without an integrated GPU it would be unusable.

Cost of creating a new CPU model without that specific trait. They develop a single blueprint and break it into various configurations to maximize savings.

The xeon remains completely stable without any movement. The main points are: 1. they'd need to design an entirely new processor and lay out the tape. 2. any shrinking would have to be weighed against what buyers want, since high-end consumer CPUs aren't always the most popular.

They're not even using IGPU on some systems yet, yet they still have the silicon inside. Probably Intel considered that earlier.

Many of these processors are being integrated into laptops and business laptops where the graphics cards are utilized. It seems the demand for K chips remains limited compared to desktop laptops, making it unprofitable to develop a separate die.

they began this practice only recently on consumer sites, likely noticing Ryzen performing well without an integrated graphics unit in many of their desktop models. It seems they’re sacrificing their edge to compete with AMD’s pricing strategy, though it’s a risky move.
