Hi everyone, I've been facing this problem for nearly a year now. I don't have extra funds or spare components, which has made it tough to pinpoint the cause. Usually, when my computer gets a shock, it crashes—either through a BSOD or by freezing completely before restarting. Changing the cables hasn't helped much, but reinserting my RAM sometimes temporarily solved it (though it usually returns after a few days). The BSOD messages often say something like "Attempted write to read-only memory," leading me to think the RAM might be faulty. Recently, I managed to acquire replacement parts, but even then, the initial days felt like I’d found the right fix. However, shaking up my PC’s power supply just now triggered the error and crash again. Without the option to buy or borrow parts, and with my job relying heavily on computer availability, I’m struggling to figure out exactly what’s going wrong and how to resolve it. Any insights or advice from others would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not entirely convinced by this—my concern isn't about it occurring during heavy use. Instead, I think a quick rise from my chair creates a minor vibration that travels through the floor, impacts the table legs, and triggers the PC to restart. This isn't my first experience with an HDD-based setup, and I haven't encountered anything like this before. For the past year or so, it hasn't happened, and I don't regularly store anything on the drive except for photos, videos, or old files. Still, if you believe this is the problem, I could test running without connecting the drive.
HDDs slowing down don't lead to memory issues. Also, 3.5" drives typically lack accelerometers unlike 2.5" models. If you skip DOCP/XMP settings, what might occur?
It seems quite risky in my view. You might want to attempt repositioning the CPU. Look for bent pins or excessive tightness. What concerns me is the possibility of losing power. I recommend taking everything apart and reassembling it from the case first—just on top of the motherboard. Then test by gently tapping your desk or applying a light percussive force to the motherboard. You could also test with a single RAM stick during the process.
That's unfortunate if true - don't have easy access to another motherboard, and RMAing mine seems like it could take a fair bit of time.
Removed all components and put them back together again. I'll let you know if the problem comes back. Assuming everything is secure, I'm confident it's just a loose part that's been fixed.
