Having fewer running programs usually makes things easier. I think MS frequently updates their operating system and it’s curious how much they coordinate with developers beforehand. I believe turning off everything except Windows security and manually launching the essential apps would be ideal. Those suggestions are worth checking out... it’s definitely a big challenge. Just install Windows, updates, and the programs you really need like Steam, Epic, or Office.
I noticed hwmonitor stopped working recently. They also have these strange "driver updates" that get marked as malware when you click the link. I recall a client from the win98 era who had excessive running resident in the task bar, causing performance issues. After turning off unnecessary programs, the system performed much better. Since then, I've strongly supported minimizing startup activity.
