Essentially everything works better. A more powerful CPU usually means higher IPC, which helps speed things up. This can be why newer chips at 3.2GHz run faster than older ones at the same speed (if other parts are similar). IPC shows how much work a CPU does in each clock cycle. Multiply it by its frequency to see how much it processes per second. Expected releases around summer 2020.
I’ll hold off on the 4th gen Ryzen until my engineering courses don’t extend too long, otherwise I’d opt for the 3900X. I think having more cores would help since it offers 12 cores versus the 8 cores in the 3800X.
