Switched ISP from TalkTalk to Sky (UK) – previously no problems. All devices connected via router and WiFi function normally. Only my main PC is affected. Used Ethernet connection; it shows "Unidentified Network" with no internet. Checked commands like ipconfig /release, renew, and reset DHCP. Tried reinstalling drivers. Successfully connected another computer to Ethernet. Likely the issue lies with my PC settings or driver configuration. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

169.254.X.X/16 indicates Windows isn't detecting the DHCP server and is switching to peer-to-peer connections. Would you like to try another operating system? This helps determine if the problem lies with hardware or software.

By OS, you're asking about alternatives to Windows 10? That's not feasible. I've tested the cable on my second PC, Windows 10, and it functions properly. I also tried it on my laptop, which works fine. WiFi is operational on my PC right now.

Restarted both the router and PC. Also removed the adapter from the wall.

Sure, I was just considering a Powerline Adapter that might be the issue. However, other computers seem to handle it without problems, so that's ruled out. You mentioned you can't install another OS there, but do you have a backup drive available? Installing something like Ubuntu should be straightforward.

Plenty. You can't have anything important on it though. To put Ubuntu on it it gets overwritten.
