My PC frequently experiences a BSOD after gaming sessions, often lasting more than an hour. The issue seems unrelated to the game's difficulty; other applications remain stable regardless. I've successfully completed the Heaven benchmark multiple times without problems, but the Cyberpunk test always fails even at minimal settings. Weekly D&D sessions on Roll20 with open browser tabs and Discord (including video) are unaffected. When it crashes, the screen freezes, audio distorts, and a brief BSOD flash precedes a restart. Visible BSODs aren't present, but similar behavior is suspected. I can't examine the code directly. The attached dump file is available. It appears unrelated to thermal problems—temperature stays normal during operation, though it reached 81°C after running Heaven. My system uses five high-quality fans and a 240mm AI-O cooler that seems to work. Airflow inside the case is adequate, even without the panels. I've updated drivers, removed the riser card for better GPU mounting, and reinstalled the GPU and RAM. Hardware specs: 64-bit Windows 10 Education (bought new three years ago), Ryzen 9 3900X with ~5% overclock, stable for about three years. Components include MSi Ventus RTX 2070 Super, Corsair Dominator 3600, 850W PSU, a 1TB NVMe drive with integrated heatsink, plus a 2TB HDD. BIOS is ROG Strix B450 v2704 (64-bit). I've cleared background processes and tried stopping non-essential apps, but the issue persists regardless. I play mostly solo, no online gaming or multiple tabs open.
I found a way to delete the original copy. I’ll attempt it once more. I ran another memory check and got clean results. I plan to use memtest86 next.
The approach of removing the OC alone wasn't effective. This time the system froze and stopped instead of restarting. I installed memtest86 but need to locate a drive to access it.
The machine isn’t starting at all now. After rolling back the update, something went wrong. I’m seeing a fan error, and this issue hasn’t caused any problems before.
I successfully bypassed the piece by adjusting the fan's monitoring in UEFI. Still confused—will try to tackle the two points mentioned. Tested without the OC, but it made things worse.
I discovered a video detailing the process but couldn't complete it. It kept triggering the BSOD right away.
