I attempted to reinstall Windows 10 multiple times today, but the issue persists after restarting once. I've tried using the USB installation and checking for updates, yet it doesn't work. Could you help me resolve this? I'm upgrading from Windows 8.1 64-bit Home, using an MSI Z97I AC motherboard with only one drive. Thanks!

Hey, can you clarify what you're asking? I need more info about the MOBO, other drives, their operating systems, and boot choices. Let me know so I can help!

Alright, no worries. I’m using just one drive (Kingston SSDNow V300) and the motherboard is an MSI Z97I AC. This is the USB download, not the Windows update.

USB version refers to either a boot version from Microsoft or a custom version built from their ISO files. The new MOBO's BIOS includes an option for enabling safe OS certificates. I'm about to capture a screen snapshot of this information.

Downloaded the installer from Microsoft's site after not being able to upgrade via Windows Update. URL: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software.../windows10

I understand the details you're looking into. I'm checking how the installation is being handled—whether it's using Microsoft's USB boot method or a custom USB boot from a Microsoft Win10 ISO. This relates to the secure boot and safe OS setup we discussed. Also, could you confirm the file you mentioned? 150902120421.BMP. Regarding the update issue, what exact message appeared?

I managed to obtain it via the update, but upon restarting my computer, a nearly identical error appears when the window opens, and it blocks further actions. The installation was done using an USB created from the ISO file.

Check if you were using Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 and that all updates were applied. Confirm your USB installation is correctly set up.

You’re transitioning from Windows 8.1 64-bit and want to verify your disk setup. Ensure you’ve installed the latest updates and run a disk check or system file check to confirm everything is intact.
