I just assembled a computer and need to access the BIOS for overclocking. Here are the details: ASUS Z490-P i7 10700K NVMe SSD. I've checked various ways online, disabled fast boot with F2 or DEL settings, tried UEFI reboot, but CMOS cleared—system wouldn't start after several GPU/CCMOS resets. Referenced a guide from ISUNShare about accessing UEFI bios. Multiple keyboards and USB ports are connected. Removed the SSD and couldn't boot. ASUS support suggested clearing CMOS. Any alternative suggestions?

Removing the CMOS causes a black screen, and you don’t want to have to take it out to access BIOS.

I meant to eliminate the CMOS component and rely solely on the built-in graphics. I attempted that.

If the reset button on the back doesn't function, you might need to revert to the traditional method. Follow these steps: 1: Power down the machine. 2: Disconnect the PSU using its switch or unplug it from the wall and briefly press the power button to discharge the PSU. The reason is that if power continues to the system, it will keep the current BIOS settings, forcing a full shutdown. The battery enables retention of settings during shutdowns or outages. 3: Extract the small battery from its holder. If a jumper is present (refer to the board manual), set it to "Clear" immediately after removing the battery, not before. Keep it in this position for roughly ten minutes. 4: Once the period is over, repeat the process exactly as described and ensure you power on the PSU after installing the new battery, never before. Regarding what showed up while typing, it seems a Windows problem, though BIOS settings might also be involved. If you access the BIOS, try default configurations to test booting. Link your screen to an output on your motherboard and start up. You don’t have to reset your CMOS.
