Hey everyone! Red Dead Redemption 2 was running on my PC since 2019. The last time I played it was April 2021. Recently, I decided to revisit it and started a fresh version. Everything seemed normal until I reached chapter two. I continued playing without any issues, but then my computer restarted unexpectedly. I encountered a BSOD saying "Unmountable Boot Volume" and kept getting stuck in a loop. To resolve this, I followed these steps: 1. Used a bootable Windows 11 USB to open Command Prompt 2. Ran these commands: chkdsk /r c: sfc /scannow bootrec /fixmbr bootrec /fixboot bootrec /rebuildbcd DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth This fixed the issue and my PC started working properly again. Now I can use Adobe apps, browse PornHub incognito, and everything functions well. Whenever I try to play RDR2, it usually takes 10-20 minutes before the problem resurfaces—rebooting and the BSOD appears once more. It seems this only happens with RDR2. I also play Civilization 6 and GTA V occasionally without issues. The most likely explanation is that RDR2 corrupts important files in Windows 11, forcing an emergency reboot. I tried checking game integrity files, but it didn’t help. My system details: Windows 11 x64, all updates installed, Ryzen 3 3960X, ASUS TRX40pro motherboard, Nvidia 2080Ti graphics card, 64GB RAM, Corsair 3200mhz memory. The game is hosted on Steam.

Disconnect your NVMe and other drives, then reconnect them.

No problem at all. I didn’t fully read the post, but I’ll be honest—just checking the integrity of the game files on Steam.

I also reinstalled the game fully this time. It seems it's been sitting on my PC for a while, possibly affected by updates. It could be either Windows 11 or Red Dead Redemption 2.

Verify your storage devices using Hard Disk Sentinel. The SSD could be experiencing problems.

It seems like you're saying something positive. How can I assist you further?

Sounds good. Keeping up with trims is a solid routine.

Yes, you have sufficient free GB available. Trim isn’t something I’ve encountered before—would you like me to check if it’s enabled via the command prompt?
