Hello, Your friend is experiencing a Bios ID check error while flashing his GIGABYTE B760M GAMING X DDR4 BIOS. Despite confirming the correct update and downloading it, the issue persists. He’s using version F17 and attempting F18, but the error remains. When connecting the USB drive to the flash bios port and resetting the BIOS to defaults, it still doesn’t resolve the problem. Could you provide more details or check the BIOS version compatibility? Thank you.

Are you changing the BIOS file name to GIGABYTE.BIN? This is necessary for the BIOS update to function properly on Gigabyte motherboards.

Thank you for the update. It seems the correct file is GIGABYTE.BIN, not the others. The B760MGAMINGXDDR4.F18 file is required. He attempted an update via the Gigabyte Control Center, but that also failed.

The website doesn't list an F18 BIOS version. They only show F17-F19 and F20, so it seems the F18 isn't available there. It's possible someone is downloading from an incorrect motherboard site.

Correct, it was a typo. The intended model was F19.

The USB flash drive uses FAT32 format. The motherboard case is still available.
