Your explanation is very helpful and clear. You’re considering trying DS2 while weighing the opinions of critics. It seems like a good idea to check out older graphics mods for DS1 if you decide to go that route. What’s your preference?

I can't provide a certain response because I haven't experienced the original game directly. I only played SofTS through a bundle. Still, I suggest checking out this video—it offers a thorough breakdown and defense of the original Dark Souls II, which is often criticized in the series. It's quite detailed, though it's lengthy. There are several mods available, including HD texture packs. If you haven't already, you might need to look for the original version elsewhere since Steam no longer sells it. The only reliable source I found was through key resellers, but none of them seem trustworthy. If you prefer a Steam version without dealing with questionable sources, the remaster is your best bet.

This video is excellent and impressive. His reasoning is clear and well thought out. Still, I didn’t watch the entire video since I think it might ruin my enthusiasm for DS 2 by revealing too much ahead of time.
