Consider making a full system backup after installing all drivers. Set up a restore point and ensure it’s protected against overwriting by newer backups.

You don’t have to take any action unless you often install malware. Since I’ve never backed up my PC and stayed safe for years, creating a restore point in Windows could still be wise if you’re prone to infections.

You should ideally store it on a USB flash drive or an external hard drive for reliable backup.

Points are saved in stages based on available space. You’ll likely have ten restore options to pick from. Keeping System Restore active and using Windows Backup is recommended. System Restore has limitations—viruses often infect these backups, causing automatic reinfection. Having a restore point lets you recover if your antivirus fails. It also requires the drive to be working properly. Backups let you bring your system back to another storage if needed.

To set up a system backup, you can use built-in tools like Windows Backup or third-party solutions such as Acronis or Veeam. It’s not a native feature in Windows 8.1 Pro itself, though it offers basic backup options.

It’s a bit harder to locate in Windows 8.1, though it exists. I’ll need to search quickly. Here’s the link explaining how to create a system backup in 8.1: http://winsupersite.com/windows-8/window...age-backup
