You don’t have to take any action unless you often install malware. Since I’ve never backed up my PC and stayed safe for years, creating a restore point in Windows could still be wise if you’re prone to infections.
Points are saved in stages based on available space. You’ll likely have ten restore options to pick from. Keeping System Restore active and using Windows Backup is recommended. System Restore has limitations—viruses often infect these backups, causing automatic reinfection. Having a restore point lets you recover if your antivirus fails. It also requires the drive to be working properly. Backups let you bring your system back to another storage if needed.
