Elite:Dangerous
Elite:Dangerous
It wasn’t too long before you adjusted the joystick controls, which is important—either you need a joystick or a controller. Just start doing things, and you’ll get used to it. I didn’t search for tutorials until I mastered the basics. I picked up some knowledge from Reddit and videos, but don’t depend solely on those resources.
It's interesting I favor mouse and keyboard over joystick and controller across both titles. While the controls have been stable, I still enjoy the SC feel and think the combot/flight model works better in SC. I plan to revisit this once more content becomes available—something always mentioned. Appreciate the tip!
To achieve a more authentic Elite experience, disabling flight assist enhances realism by forcing players to halt their movement as they would in real life. Flight assist normally prevents stopping your own motion, so turning or reversing becomes necessary. Gravity also plays a role, pulling the ship toward asteroids or planets you pass near. Flight assist is usually active during combat, but I prefer it off until sharp maneuvers are needed. While I haven’t played SC, I think this approach adds significant depth to gameplay.
I also gave it a shot. It was intriguing. I'm planning to hold off until the planet side module is released.
