Hello Community,
I'm attempting to stream Call of Duty Black Ops 4 with OBS or Streamlabs OBS. I believe I've set everything correctly according to the instructions, but when the stream starts, the lag becomes extremely noticeable and my FPS drops significantly. When not streaming, I maintain around 120 FPS, whereas it falls to 30-40 FPS during the stream. I have no idea why this happens and it's really frustrating. My CPU reports 100% usage, but I'm not sure what that means in this context. I've tried using both x264 and NVENC encoders.

PC Specs:
Processor; i7-4770k
Graphics Card; ROG 1080ti
RAM; GSkill Ripjaws 16GB
Motherboard; Maximus Hero VI

Since you're working extremely hard on your CPU while playing a demanding game and encoding videos simultaneously.

Hey everyone, thanks for your responses. We're suggesting the CPU might be the issue, and you're wondering if it's time to purchase a new one. If that's the case, I've been looking around to find an Intel Core i9-9900k 3.6 GHz 9-core processor.

The CPU is definitely the main issue since it lacks sufficient power to handle video encoding and playing BO4 simultaneously. It makes no sense to opt for the 9900K; it's excessive. You should also consider purchasing a new motherboard and DDR4 RAM.

Do you have any ideas on what you could try?

But it relies on your budget. What amount are you considering?

The issue is that I'm an Intel build and I can't just randomly change the BIOS setting to 2700x.

However, you'd still have to upgrade your motherboard if you're swapping in a 4790K instead of a 4770K. The type of CPU you select will also require additional RAM.

For running a 2700x I would likely require a new motherboard to align with the socket, and possibly a high-end one. I was considering building a new system in the new year using an Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-core processor paired with an MSI Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON AC ATX LGA1151 motherboard.

Exactly, you'd need completely new RAM because your current setup uses DDR3 while the CPUs only support DDR4.
