I’m looking for a way to confirm my Windows 10 license status while planning to install Ubuntu. I’ve heard concerns about dual-booting on Windows 10, but I’m unsure if it’s possible to run Ubuntu alongside Windows 10. Are there other options to set up Ubuntu on a Windows 10 machine?

Join the group. You can run Linux on a USB stick or HDD and enable dual-booting. Windows 10 won’t prevent installing another operating system unless you’re trying to replace the existing Windows version.

The statement that "whoever said can't dual boot is deadly wrong" highlights how outdated the idea is.

It seems there might be some confusion here. The statement appears to discuss installing Ubunutu on a system that typically runs Windows 10, but it mentions keeping the setup separate with two drives and adjusting BIOS/UEFI each time. Clarifying the intended meaning would help provide accurate guidance.

Ubuntu uses GRUB as the interface, so I'll make any necessary adjustments.

I understand. I was merely mentioning that if he wished to maintain the two operating systems distinct, he would have to take that step.

You want to know what the question is about. GRUB lets you run two operating systems together, like Windows 10 and Ubuntu, on separate drives.
