This involves setting up two operating systems on distinct drives, each paired with a separate boot manager. It’s a straightforward method to maintain organization, allowing him to use Ubuntu only for a single project before removing it.

Absolutely, that sounds perfect but a bit slow when you need it. Would you like a more streamlined option? Grub is great for long-term use.

I discussed this dual boot issue with the technician team. They explained that a Windows 10 laptop with a specific license can't support dual boot because the operating system license wouldn't allow it. Although we can technically dual boot, later problems might arise with Wi-Fi, video cards, or display issues. I think we should consider using VMware as a solution, which would set up virtual environments instead. Sorry for the unclear English, but I hope this clarifies what I meant.

The Windows license won't influence the dual boot setup. You can simply create a virtual machine using Hyper-V, which comes pre-installed with Windows.

What's going on? He isn't worthy of being a technician since VMWare can handle it fully, and dual boot is the better option.

For your single college project, I’ll make sure Ubuntu runs smoothly and without issues. After that, I’ll remove it completely.

On the 6 steps, it explains restarting your computer and using Ubuntu, or installing it via Rufus. After restarting, you don’t need to follow extra steps—just launch Ubuntu normally.

Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced Setup > Restart now. Pause for a moment then choose Use a Device, pick your USB drive and it will restart to Ubuntu.
