Drgangleic - The Dark Souls discussion
Here’s a refreshed version of your text:
Welcome to the Dark Souls discussion. The title might hint at the second game, but I’m open to any content from earlier entries too. This started after some memorable moments in the game. Come on in!
Sit by the fire and share your hilarious, epic, or frustrating tales. Ask for advice or tips on overcoming a tough boss. My first story plus a quick tip: I spent a long time trying to defeat The Pursuer in his second spot. Eventually, I spotted the ballistae nearby. But I struggled to get enough time during the battle to land a shot. I was killed countless times before a summoning sign appeared outside. When it did, I summoned a knight—Rufus. We exchanged looks and moved through the mist. As soon as we emerged, The Pursuer was attacking. Luckily, he began targeting Rufus, allowing me to slip past. While he was being overwhelmed, Rufus noticed my plan. He led the pursuer into the firing line of a ballista. As the attacker prepared his final blow, I pulled the trigger—his shot hit him perfectly and he fell instantly.
But there’s more. We paused briefly before choosing the “Point forward” gesture, which turned out to be a perfect fist bump. After that, I upgraded my character, climbed Heide’s Tower of Flame, and reached the Cathedral of Blue. Suddenly, the Old Dragonslayer handed me my backside—a humbling moment.
Anyway, let’s see if this works. I’ve met some Dark Souls players, so I’m not surprised.
I recall those times assisting others in overcoming the relentless pursuer. There was a thrill in maneuvering past each strike and gradually weakening the opponent, followed by a sharp sting of disappointment when another adversary eliminated you just before the final shot.
He was just beyond reach when the bolt struck the boss. I’d feel terrible if it had hit him—being equipped with knight armor and a bastard sword made me move slowly. The chaser is surprisingly quick for someone so large.
The multiplayer is the best part of the game^^ Just a few minutes ago i invaded some poor sods world and followed him for a while. And then i smacked him about a bit before killing him with a backhand slap I'd suggest waiting for a while to see if it's on sale at some point. Or if the DX11 version is better
It's a delightful journey into Dark Souls! Just a few months ago I picked up DS1 for around five dollars during a Steam sale. It took me a while to dive in, but once I did, the challenge really hooked me. I’m currently prepping for the upcoming DS2 release by going through NG+7 before the new graphics update. I captured a screenshot of one of my characters in Anor Londo, ready to tackle a gargoyle and prove those knights wrong. My early struggles made the experience tough, but once I got comfortable, the gameplay became captivating. I imagine finishing NG in a single afternoon without needing the master key would be a thrill. Seeing that expression on her face reminded me of my first encounter with those skele-dogs in the Tomb of the Giants—it was a mix of fear and excitement. On my first run, I had more than just armor and weapons; I also had a spider shield and an estoc, which made the experience even more intense. I’m already looking forward to DS2!
That large sword and the helmet are impressive. I haven't really experimented with parrying weapons in DS1, but I've gotten used to the parry animation with medium shields—most of them offer 100% physical block, which is really useful. Your reaction to the picture was funny; it was a bit of a joke. I’ve heard the term "fashion souls" before, but I wasn’t sure what it meant. My characters usually look like they’re trying too hard, mixing random armor to boost poise and resistance. That was my take on fashion in Dark Souls! Here’s a more realistic setup that better reflects how my character would appear in combat.
