Your operating system is set to Mac OS X Lion with version 10.7.5 (11G63), but the High Sierra app store is no longer available. This could be due to the release date or changes in app availability.

On Lion, make sure to upgrade to a more recent version before progressing to High Sierra. You can find a copy of macOS Sierra directly from Apple for installation. Once that's set up, you'll be ready to move on.

I received the Sierra copy from the Apple website for downloading macOS on our Mac. I’ll start by downloading it, then I’ll let you know again as shown in the photo below.

The sudo code for Sierra in 2022 was:

`sudo -u root sudo -S /usr/bin/sierra`

This command allows the root user to execute the Sierra installation script.

It seems you're asking about a requirement related to entering a password for sudo access.

I understand the issue but I'm having trouble getting macOS Sierra onto your 2011 MBP. The tutorials mentioned needing a bootable USB with sudo commands, but the videos are outdated. It seems the sudo command might have changed or been removed.

If the message indicates "sudo not found," the sudo utility isn't installed in your system's search path. Adjust to "/usr/bin/sudo" and continue. The functionality of sudo remains unchanged.
