Hello, I bought a Cudy AX3000 PCIe WiFi adapter after my USB one caused issues. After installing it on my motherboard and trying to connect to the network, my computer slowed down and lost the video signal, even though the fans kept running. I looked into the problem and adjusted some BIOS settings, like the PCIe generation, but nothing resolved it. My system runs a Ryzen 5 1600 with BIOS version 7B84vAN, on an MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX motherboard, powered by a Corsair CX650M PSU, and has an EVGA RTX 3050 XC 8 GB GPU. I’m trying to identify the cause so I can fix it quickly.

I just swapped it out this morning, assuming there was a problem, but I’m still facing issues.

Do you have access to another PC to test the adapter in?

Yes, I placed the adapter in the other PC and it functions properly.

Ensure the 8-pin and 24-pin power connectors on the original PC are securely connected. For a modular PSU, verify the same on the PSU connectors as well. This may indicate a power or grounding problem.

I carefully checked those power cables but couldn't find the issue. The problem also occurred with my old PSU, suggesting a possible motherboard fault. When booting the PC with the adapter in the PCIe x1 slot, my monitors show "no signal." I discovered that disconnecting the monitor using a DisplayPort cable helps restore signal to the other display.

I think the mobo might be in the same condition now. Your PSU should be sufficient for your system. I’m curious if the motherboard is installed properly. Are all the holes aligned with the mounting points and are they secured with screws? Were there any unused mounting areas under the board that didn’t match a hole? These can cause shorts or grounding problems. Inserting a PCIe device might create an extra mounting point, which could be an issue.

There is one missing standoff that my motherboard would use but it looks like I can’t remove any of the unused standoffs and I do not have an extra one that came with the case.

Does the motherboard move or bend at that location?
