That was the build time for me, no matter the patch version. It was around 15 minutes on patches 1.0.6.0 and 1.0.2.0. However, there seems to be no explanation for why the 8-core, 16-thread CPU shouldn't be utilizing more than one thread. I think that's unexpected since my 8700K has more cores/threads. I feel like something might be being hidden, because this doesn't seem consistent.

It looks like you've got another project underway. I bought and set up this game yesterday... after a complete system reset and a CPU/GPU upgrade. Creating shaders took about half an hour, and the game has been running perfectly for the first few hours at 4K Ultra with 60 fps.

there might be a suitable hardware setup that the game dislikes; after unboxing the video, he spent more time on shaders than I did xD

What is the current patch level? A new 1.0.2.1 hotfix was just deployed, though it mainly addresses mouse-related performance issues.

I researched using process hacker and found that the game folder includes dxcompiler.dll, but it isn't actually used. Instead, d3dcompiler_42.dll is being used, which isn't in the game folder library. I added this file from another game (Horizon Zero Dawn) into the game folder, and now compilation is faster while multiple shader workers run. It's completed in under 30 minutes. I think I can close it now.

You might need to retrieve the d3dcompiler_42.dll file because it is being utilized by another game, and its presence isn't obvious. The exact location within the game isn't clear from your message.

since games contains those files when modifications are made to bypass standard Microsoft libraries, I placed them in the root directory where the executables reside.

Sys32 also contains that file, and I added it to the game folder but it didn't make any change.
