Does "The Last of Us - Part 1" fail to launch?
it seems like you're asking about a release update for Adrenalin 23.4.3. Could you clarify what you mean by "released fix"?
It seems Jedi Survivor is facing a significant performance issue that many expected would be resolved with a day one update, but hasn't been addressed. The problem demands an extremely powerful CPU or even a GPU capable of handling 33% utilization on an AMD 5900X, especially at 1440p resolution. I noted this because a 7900XT would actually run at around 83% utilization thanks to better AMD drivers reducing CPU load.
I find it surprising that even development teams like Respawn are getting caught in this frustrating PC compatibility issue, despite being well-versed with the engine by now.
On a different note, the recent 1.4 patch for Part I appears to have resolved the performance and stability concerns many were experiencing. It’s puzzling why publishers insist on pushing their teams to meet overly tight deadlines rather than ensuring their games are fully prepared for launch. This could lead to launch failures that discourage pre-orders or prompt buyers to delay purchases until after release, impacting their revenue streams.
It wasn’t that bad after all.
After facing controller connection issues that forced a firmware update, I played it for an hour and it performed quite well.
The statistics in the upper left corner reflect my experience throughout: about 70-80% GPU usage, roughly 40% VRAM, and 20% CPU.
Where exactly is the bottleneck?
🤣
I was running everything at Ultra (Epic) with RT enabled... this was a limited test, so I’ll revisit it later to assess performance. But so far, it’s been smooth. I only had one frame drop while climbing up a wall—after restarting and reloading the game it stopped.
That was the only instance where frames dropped at 60 or below or around a couple of FPS.
None of the claims about running at 30-40 fps in online reviews matched my experience.
I haven’t encountered any issues with Hogwart’s or Last of Us either.
