I own a laptop with an ASUS laptop featuring an Intel i7 processor. Occasionally, I receive a warning in the Event Viewer for this IntelMEProv. Each time this alert appears, my laptop freezes completely until I perform a hard reset. I contacted Asus, who guided me through an update process, but they seem unresponsive now. I attempted to wipe the system and it seemed effective, though about two weeks later it has returned to normal. Regardless of the game running, the errors appear in Event Viewer.

Below are the two error entries found:
A provider, IntelMEProv, is registered under the Windows Management Instrumentation namespace root\Intel_ME to utilize the LocalSystem account.
This account is high-privileged and the provider could lead to a security breach if it doesn’t properly impersonate user requests.

Updated bios and the ME still cause the whole computer to freeze, issue remains unchanged.

Yes, BIOs is currently at 328. All drivers were either installed via the Windows update or through the website. I noticed a chipset driver that seems uninstalled, so I’ll attempt to reinstall it and check the results.

Still had issues with me. Could you share a link to the newest ME for Intel? I think I have it set up, but I need to confirm I got the correct version.

I hadn't attempted that before but did so. The tool indicated I was already updated.
