Does FPS decrease in GTA 5 when using a Radeon HD 4830 GPU?
Hello, when operating the vehicle while playing GTA 5, the frame rate decreases from 30-33 FPS to 17-23 FPS across all settings, whether using 800x600 Normal or 1366x768 Normal. This issue occurs consistently in both the original 2015 version and the latest release.
My system details:
- Intel Core i3-2120 CPU
- Esonic H61FHL Motherboard
- Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 4830 with 1024 MB GDDR3 256-bit GPU (20% overclocked at core and GPU speeds, no stock overclocking)
- Kingston ValueRAM 2x4 8.00 GB RAM CL9 at 1333 MHz
- Case: Everest non-mesh model (exact model unknown)
- PSU: PRO2000 ATX-400
- Processor cooler: Intel's built-in fan
- Storage: 500 GB Samsung 870 EVO drive
- GPU performance: Max 77°C at stock speeds, 72°C at 54% GPU usage; CPU maintains 70% or higher in both scenarios.
- Maintenance: Thermal paste hasn’t been applied since 2019.
How can I resolve the FPS drops issue?
is this a sudden problem or has it always been this way?
i don’t think i’d get great results in any modern games with this configuration.
the whole setup is far from what i’d consider a basic gaming rig.
Sorry for the briefness, I was occupied. Of course, as you mentioned, this occurs frequently. Particularly in crowded places.
the reason is that the system lacks sufficient power to handle modern gaming software. it might work well for media tasks, but for playing AAA or high-quality games, a more capable setup is necessary. when did you acquire this system?
Received in 2021. 2000 Turkish Lira. At that time, the system had a GT 220 1 GB video card; however, due to limited resources, I installed the HD 4830 from my previous setup. The monitor was also included.
