Sure, it would work at 1080p but it would require more processing power.

GTA isn't designed as a traditional FPS, which is why it runs smoothly at higher frame rates. At maximum settings, you'd typically see 90-100 FPS with two 980s.

Activate the trigger, and become part of the SLI club. I own two 980s, and if I had GTA V, I’d show you the 4K performance.

I appreciate it. It really runs nicely on the road and in the air, I can hit +144fps with lowered settings at the moment, but I'm not sure about the glamour part. The game mostly centers on speeding up extremely fast, causing crashes and chaos. How do you know that? Are you making a guess or are you certain? I don't have any benchmarks for 2x980 at 1080p.

I really wish I could, but the prices don’t justify it right now. I’m not sure about the 980s unless they drop soon. If I could get those high frame rates in GTA 5, maybe the price would change. Let me know if you’ve played GTA 5 and want some benchmark results.

there are numerous benchmarks for single 980s, typically around 50-60fps. (estimate of performance ...) also ... note this could be constrained by the CPU.
