If it isn't flat, there could be uneven heating on certain areas of the GPU die, making it hard for sensors to catch it in time. It might be wiser to get a card that isn't working and replace the cooler completely.

yes, i looked it up online and found that that section of the cooler doesn't touch anything except the middle and the right side which connect to the PCB.

This isn't the section I was referring to as flat. Ideally, you should restore its shape.
The area touching the GPU must remain flat (or as intended). Something with sufficient pressure to deform multiple copper heat pipes has affected the entire graphics card. These heat pipes sit directly above the GPU contact zone. If that surface is no longer flat, the paste application must be very thick to compensate for any irregularities.
We're still uncertain whether the heat pipes are cracked internally—they aren't solid—and whether they maintain proper contact with the cold plate. They're usually soldered, and solder doesn't perform well under mechanical stress, making it hard to assess the cooler's effectiveness. The GPU temperature sensors aren't uniformly placed, and most aren't shared with software; they're handled internally by the GPU itself.

even though I adjusted the thermal paste on my GPU and noticed a substantial decrease in temperatures—about 20°C lower from 80°C to 60°C on the GPU and from 100°C to 80°C on hotspots—my PC still shut down after about 10 minutes of running Furmark. At this stage, I have no clear solution other than playing less demanding games until I acquire a new GPU or revert to the GTX 1650.
